Safety is a Top Priority

For Raggio Group, the existence of a Safety Plan is merely the first step. A safe, accident and injury-free work environment is only achieved through employee awareness, the consistent practice of proper work habits, and thorough training. Aside from being required by law, a sensible commitment to safety and health can reduce the cost of business by cutting workers’ compensation claims and reducing time workers spend away from work. It also impacts productivity by drawing attention to the continual improvement of management systems and work processes. Further, and perhaps most importantly, a commitment to safety and health reflects our care for our team members.

As employers, our most important responsibilities include:
- Providing a workplace free from serious hazards, and to comply with the rules and regulations issued under the OSHA Act.
- Continually examining workplace conditions, identifying and correcting potential hazards.
- Ensuring that tools and equipment are safe to use and properly maintained.
- Using color codes, posters, signs, etc. to warn employees of potential hazards.
- Providing training and procedural protocols related to injury protection.
- Ensuring that members of our management team are properly equipped to enforce compliance.

Practicing safety requires planning and action within a systematic framework that encourages participation and prioritizes worker education and training. “Safety First” is practiced at all times. Our safety leadership team with be comprised of a Safety Manager who will report to the Project Manager of each project. The Safety Manager is responsible for the safety of Raggio Group employees, subcontractor workers, our clients’ customers, and the general public. However, the employees themselves must be able to identify and report dangerous conditions. Employees are required to immediately inform the Safety Manager and/or Superintendent of situations beyond their ability or authority to correct. Under no circumstances will Raggio Group punish, discipline, or otherwise deter such employee reporting; rather, employees are encouraged in good faith to report violations and hazards.

Raggio Group strictly enforces all company drug and safety policies and procedures, with a series of warnings, removal from duties, and termination if necessary. These enforcement steps are clearly outlined in our comprehensive Injury and Illness Prevention Program.
